Joonyoung serves as a director at the Busan Culture & Tourism Festival Organizing Committee in South Korea, the professional organization that plans and produces Busan’s representative festivals, including Canola Flower Festival, Original Downtown Festival, Busan Port Festival, Busan Sea Festival, Busan International Rock Festival, Busan Fireworks Festival, Busan Citizen’s Bell-tolling Ceremony.
The Busan International Rock Festival was first held back in 1999 when it was known as ‘Asian Rock Festival’. In 2000, it was rebranded as the Busan International Rock Festival, and now, in its 24th year, it has become one of the longest-running and most dynamic festivals. The event takes place at Samrak eco-park and features an eclectic lineup of the best up-and-coming artists and headliners from Korea and worldwide. BIRF promotes artist development through long-established exchange programs with international festivals across Asia.
